We realise we are lucky to live here and like nothing more than to share our farm and our lifestyle with our guests.

Our aim is to conserve natural bushland and wildlife and other vital natural resources such as water, soil…. the environment in all its many aspects, not just for now but for a long and healthy future.

Some of the ways we accomplish this at present are -

Registering and designating areas of our farm for "Land for Wildlife".
We are happy to welcome native animals anywhere on our farm.

Planting windrows of native Banksia and bottlebrush which will eventually
provide shade and shelter from the wind and predators, as well as look beautiful.
It's the complete package.

Being water wise - respecting this all important resource. Limiting time spent
running the shower, never leaving taps running unnecessarily, fixing leaking
taps quickly, collecting and storing pure rain water for use in the homestead,
cottage and around the farm buildings. You will certainly taste and feel the
difference.

Recycling bath, shower and hand basin water from the homestead and also
laundry water to use on the lavender and rosemary crops and around the yard.

Replacing all household cleaners and laundry powder with the natural
non-chemical alternatives

Avoiding the use of pesticides and weedicides - our lavender and rosemary
is grown without chemicals as nature intended

Producing much of the food we provide for our guests and ourselves from our
animals and plants.
The Clydesdales provide power to pull the hay rake and plough, and provide
fertilizer.
The cows provide milk, meat and ferilizer.
The goats provide milk, meat, fertilizer and weed control.
The sheep provide meat, fertilizer and wool.
The chickens provide eggs and prepare the vegetable gardens.
Bandit the dog hasn't found her profitable niche yet and as she's 14 its
doubtful that she will, but she is friendly to guests.
Throughout this year the farm has produced rosemary skewers and garnish,
parsley, bay, chives, thyme, marjoram, pumpkins, tomatoes, lettuce, plums and blackberries which all make it to the meal table.
At times we milk the cows and have fresh milk plus we make cheese, butter and ice cream. Homemade ice cream is an absolute indulgence.

Nurturing our farm animals. They are kind, quiet and  pattable and we aim to keep them content ( which is no mean feat in winter ).

Practicing rotational grazing where the animals move from one paddock to
another on a reg ula r basis so that they have new pasture shoots and variety to eat. This also helps to reduce the chance of parasites.
